Satisfactory Academic Progress Appeal Form
Loading...
Students who fail to meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) standards, resulting in suspension status, are not eligible to receive student financial aid. The NSCC Financial Aid office will determine students' SAP status at the end of each semester, including summer, and an electronic notification will be sent through their student email accounts at NSCC. SAP considers several factors to determine financial assistance eligibility, including:
Qualitative Progress - GPA Requirement
Quantitative Progress - Quantity of Work Completed
Pace of Progress Towards Degree - Program Completion Requirements
Students may appeal to reinstate their eligibility. To appeal the loss of student financial aid eligibility due to failing to meet SAP standards, a student must submit an appeal to the Financial Aid Office. Circumstances that may justify an appeal are listed below.
Students awaiting reinstatement of their financial aid eligibility are

Signature & Affirmation
It is my acknowledgement that I have been unable to meet the satisfactory academic progress standards outlined in Northwest State Community College's policy, resulting in my ineligibility for student financial aid. It is my understanding that this SAP appeal will be reviewed and approved if, in its opinion, the circumstances of my situation justify temporarily exempting me from these requirements. In the event that my application is approved, I will be instructed to follow an academic plan that, if followed, will temporarily restore my eligibility for student financial aid and will allow me to complete the minimum SAP requirement by the end of the program (unless the maximum timeframe is exceeded). According to the Northwest State Community College Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy, my student financial aid eligibility will be terminated if I do not comply with the requirements of an approved appeal. It is my understanding that the SAP Appeal Committee's decision cannot be appealed. Additionally, I understand that I am responsible for coordinating payment arrangements with the Business Office at Northwest State Community College if my appeal is either 1.) not processed by the semester's payment due date due to incompleteness, or 2.) denied while I am still enrolled for the current term.
